To provide a safe, clean, aesthetically attractive and functional campus environment through the maintenance of all campus buildings and building areas for the enhancement of the learning environment, the overall appeal of campus, and the level of human safety and comfort.
Description of Job *** This position will work a 4 pm to 12:30 am Monday - Friday shift *** This position exists to support the mission of the University by ensuring that the campus buildings are safe, clean, and aesthetically pleasing to all students, faculty, staff, and visitors.
The teamleader is responsible for ensuring the team works together to successfully carry out the assigned daily activities in an efficient and effective manner.
This position is expected to make minor adjustments to work assignments to compensate for absences, changing work loads and special assignments.
The teamleader is also responsible for communicating the needs between crew members and the Custodial Supervisor and the Sr.
Director of Facilities, Physical Plant Management.
Custodian Class Series description is available online Primary Duties Fulfill Cleaning Standards Employee will fulfill the Colorado State University Pueblo Custodial Cleaning Standards in their assigned areas.
This may include: vacuum carpets; clean, sanitize, replenish supplies in all bathroom and shower facilities; remove all trash from assigned areas; clean whiteboards/blackboards, empty pencil sharpeners, clean all drinking fountains, clean glass/windows, clean furniture, sweep and mop all floors, clean classrooms, hallways, cafeteria, gymnasium, media center, locker rooms, auditoriums, lobbies, lounges, corridors, elevators, stairways and other spaces.
Employee will use Universal Precautions and sanitation procedures when handling and cleaning bodily fluids.
Employee will also complete all assigned safety training as well as other training assigned by the University.
Task Organization, Scheduling, and Inspections Lead a group of 3 or more full time Custodian l's as well as student workers and temporary employees to accomplish the overall work assignment.
Communicate the needs and requirements among team members and building occupants.
Organize, schedule, monitor, and inspect the work of each team member.
Adjust the daily work plan to compensate for absenteeism in assigned areas.
Provide input into Supervisory decisions made at the Custodian Ill level and above for leave approvals and leave management as well as documentation to support appropriate personnel actions.
Provide information and assistance in developing more efficient methods for accomplishing job tasks and cutting costs.
Also responsible for assuring assigned areas and buildings are adequately supplied with items for custodial services.
The Custodian II will work with the Custodian Ill to make sure that all applicable training for assigned Custodian l's, including safety training are completed in a timely manner.
Deep Cleaning Projects Employee will be responsible for deep cleaning projects such as restoring carpet, shampooing furniture, stripping and waxing floors, scrubbing non-wax floors, washing walls, detail cleaning air vents, exterior windows, and cleaning light fixtures.
The Custodian II will also work with Custodian l's to ensure their deep cleaning projects are scheduled at appropriate intervals and at times that will not cause issues with building occupants or other campus priorities.
Assist other Facilities Staff Position is required to assist all other Physical Plant and Custodial staff as needed to include other duties as assigned by immediate Supervisor.
The Custodian II will also modify team duties and schedules to accommodate these requests through their team.
Position will be required to work overtime as needed for University functions, special events, or emergency situations that may arise.
Building Exterior Cleaning and Snow Removal Position is required to assist with building exterior cleaning and emptying exterior trash receptacles within 25 feet of building exterior.
This includes snow and ice removal from assigned building entryways and sidewalks within 25 feet of building exterior.
Custodian will spread ice melt as needed to maintain safe walkways for campus stakeholders.
Also provides slip protection and appropriate signage on wet floors.
The Custodian II will also be responsible for ensuring this is completed effectively at all their team's assigned areas and buildings.
Salary Range: $3,318.
00 - $4,646.
